  We had a great experience with Kitty Hawk Rentals. The home we rented in Duck was clean and ready to go. They were accommodating with our schedule and provided for a memorable trip. A very nice property with a perfect view. Nothing beats hearing the waves crash as they put you to sleep. Or watching a perfect sunrise over the ocean each morning. A convenient location only a few miles from the center of town, the property was a quiet retreat.

  We had a wonderful vacation, and I would have given more stars had it not been for the rental company themselves. Beware of the conditions of the rental upon entry. Take pictures and ask them to come inspect again if you see anything wrong or they will charge your credit card for it. Among those things, I suggest inspecting cleanliness of the oven in your rental. We were charged for not cleaning the oven...we used it one time in the week and nothing spilled....the oven hadn't been cleaned for some time... We reported things like bags of dog feces left in backyard, bait left in freezer, broken deck furniture upon arrival. (Thankfully, I took pictures and the inspector was on premise so I could show her.) There was broken glass in the dishwasher, and I had to clean the filter to get the dishwasher to clean dishes properly. Nothing was done about things we reported (yes, the feces was there all week) but after leaving, we were charged for petty house cleaning things that are not requested as part of check-out. I found several items left by previous guests under beds and couches and didn't complain, but I also didn't touch them...later we were charged $50 for things of this sort for cleaning fee. They also acknowledged upon arrival that it was impossible for us to check-in early because the previous renters "trashed the place." Now I wonder if they do this to all occupants in order to charge a cleaning fee. We had a lovely stay, but be careful with this company!
